BillSoft Services Successfully Completes SAS 70 Audit
Overland Park, KS, April 21, 2008 — BillSoft, Inc., the market leader for transaction-based taxation, announced today that it recently received confirmation that BillSoft Services has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type I audit for its tax compliance services.
Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SAS 70 is the authoritative guidance that allows service organizations, like BillSoft Services, to disclose their control activities and processes to customers and auditors in a uniform reporting format. BillSoft Services’ successful completion of the SAS 70 independent audit signifies it’s commitment to maintaining the most comprehensive controls, ensuring accuracy and security for its clients.
SAS 70 audits are widely recognized. In today's global economy, service organizations or service providers must demonstrate adequate controls and safeguards when hosting or processing data belonging to customers. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.
