Paris, May 27 2004: BillSoft,
Inc., the leader for taxation solutions, and Highdeal, the leading provider of
pricing, charging and rating solutions for online and mobile services, announced
today a joint solution that enables service providers to offer fast and
error-free rating, billing and taxation. The platform decreases TCO and
eliminates the burden of managing complex tax software. This integrated solution
has already been deployed for Transaction Network Services, Inc. (TNS), a
leading provider of data communications services for transaction-oriented
applications.
With over 200,000 different taxes in the U.S.,
service providers are faced with challenges that make provisioning for and
calculating telecommunications taxes a very complex task. Highdeal and BillSoft
have joined forces on a solution that allows customers to accurately collect and
calculate taxes based on current rates. The integrated solution, which includes
BillSoft’s EZTax® and the Highdeal Transactive® rating and billing solution, is
designed to capture, label, group and provision customer data for rating and
billing in real-time according to federal, state, county and local tax
rules.

The fully integrated solution enables
service providers like TNS to dynamically manage and automate pricing, billing,
and rating processes while ensuring accurate billing and tax calculations. The
Highdeal Transactive GUI allows users to set-up the appropriate tax
characteristics during the rating process. The system transfers the pricing
information to the high-performance EZTax rating engine to calculate applicable
taxes. The tax computation results are then available for Transactive and
automatically displayed on invoices.
